Holiday Instagram Marketing: What to Prepare Before November

If you’re promoting your business on Instagram this holiday season, now’s a good time to prepare.

You don’t need a complicated campaign or daily Reels. You do need to help customers understand what you’re offering, when to act, and how to buy.

Here’s what I’d focus on before November.

Decide What You’re Promoting

Before designing holiday graphics, get clear on your offer.

Are you promoting gift cards, seasonal products, or appointments customers should book early? Pick a main priority instead of featuring everything at once.

You don’t have to offer a discount. Convenient pickup, thoughtful packaging, or help choosing a gift can be useful selling points.

Ask: Why would this offer help your customer during the holidays?

Give Your Profile a Quick Check

Someone might discover your business through a holiday post and head straight to your profile. Make their next step obvious.

Check that:

  • Your bio clearly explains what you offer.

  • Your website link leads somewhere useful.

  • Your contact information and service area are current.

  • Your booking or checkout process works on a phone.

If you’re promoting a holiday offer, don’t make people search your entire website for it. Follow the buying path yourself and fix anything confusing.

Confirm Your Dates and Details

A festive photo won’t answer every buying question. Confirm the information customers need, including:

  • Order deadlines.

  • Shipping and pickup options.

  • Holiday hours.

  • Appointment availability.

  • Gift card terms and offer exclusions.

Only promote deadlines you’ve confirmed. Plan to repeat important details in posts, Stories, and wherever customers go to buy. One mention isn’t enough.

Create Content That Helps People Choose

“Shop our holiday collection” tells people what to do, but it doesn’t help them decide.

Build content around questions like:

  • Who would this make a good gift for?

  • What’s included?

  • Can I pick it up locally?

  • How far ahead should I book?

A carousel could organize gift ideas by interest or budget. A Reel could demonstrate a product or service. Stories could answer questions and direct customers to the relevant page.

Choose the format that makes the information clearest.

Gather Your Materials and Make a Simple Plan

Start collecting product photos, packaging shots, service demonstrations, and relevant testimonials. Get permission before sharing customer photos or feedback.

Then plan a few key messages:

  • Introduce your offer and who it’s for.

  • Show what’s included.

  • Answer a buying question.

  • Share a genuine customer experience.

  • Remind people about a confirmed deadline.

Build around your business dates, but leave room for changes in availability. Your plan should make work easier, not lock you into outdated content.

Be Ready for Inquiries

When someone replies to a Story or sends a DM, what happens next?

Prepare answers about pricing, availability, delivery, and booking. Keep templates handy, but personalize your responses.

Anyone helping with your account should know which details to confirm and where to send customers.

Make Buying Easier

Holiday Instagram marketing doesn’t have to mean posting more. It means making the buying process clearer. Before November, walk through your account as if you’re a new customer.

Can you understand the offer, find the details, and figure out how to buy?

If not, that’s the best place to begin.
